What to expect on the first visit
The initial appointment generally takes 30 minutes during which time you can expect to have your concerns listened to thoroughly and caringly no matter how trivial they may seem. All details can be useful in helping your recovery. A physical examination will be performed honing in on the relevant tests for your condition, as well as looking at any scans you may have and discussing the findings. Diagnosis is a large focus at our clinic and sometimes the cause of your symptoms is clear cut, however most of the time it is not with various potential contributing factors. This will be discussed in language that you understand. Treatment or exercises can often begin on the first visit and if it is your first introduction to a chiropractic treatment, the therapy will often be brief and very gentle to test how you may tolerate it.
What to bring
If you have any X-rays, CT scans or MRI's relevant to your current symptoms, please bring them to your first appointment. These can be very helpful to help build the picture of what is the cause of your ailment. X-rays can often seem scary when you are in pain however most of the time we find they are not as bad as they look, sometimes they are just normal, and being talked through this can be very helpful in reducing the anxiety and fear around pain.
